Improving Board Dynamics in Boards of Governors
We work with Boards of Governors in all types of organizations including Nonprofits, Hospitals, Private Clubs and University Boards of Visitors to improve board dynamics. Each type of organization has a unique set of needs which we address by using our three stage Board Dynamics Process.
The goal of the process is to increase board effectiveness and cohesiveness, as well as create a safe environment for all members by using the science of adult bonding and emotional connection.
We use an emotional-focused approach because emotions are the most basic motivator we have. When we experience a safe way to stay connected, we naturally become close and more collaborative. The need to connect is wired into our brain.
When we able to tune into our board members’ emotions, send clear coherent signals, or understand their need to create value, they are far more likely to contribute and perform. When people serve on boards, they want to know their time is well spent, they are contributing to the process, and they feel valued.
The emotional-focused approach effectively equips board leaders with the right techniques to pull board members to engage, participate, and feel inspired – all of which improves the overall board effectiveness. Learn more about our approach here.
