We work with Boards of Directors in public and private companies to improve board dynamics.
Each type of organization has a unique set of needs which we meet by developing a plan that works best for the company and board. Our goal is to increase board effectiveness and cohesiveness, as well as create a safe environment for all members by using the science of human connection and group dynamics.
We use an emotional-focused approach because emotions are the most basic motivator we have. When we can’t find a safe way to stay connected with our colleagues, we naturally become distant and less collaborative.
If you are unable to tune into your emotions, send clear coherent signals, or understand that you need to maintain connection with your fellow board members, you are far more likely to put up walls. Your brain shuts down when it feels like it is in a dangerous situation. This is commonly known as a “fight or flight” reaction.
The emotional-focused approach is effective in creating safety, defusing stressful situations, and improving overall board effectiveness and board dynamics. Learn more about our approach here.
